Rob Allardice
BACKGROUND
My passion for living a fit and healthy lifestyle started when I played rugby league in year 11 and 12. I joined the Royal Australian Navy straight out of school and served for 13 years. During this time I developed my interest in training the human body by completing my Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma in Fitness. From there I trained and competed in Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit of which I am a certified coach in both. I then discovered Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). I dedicated myself to the two martial arts until I was confident enough to compete in them both. Over time I decided to focus more on Mixed Martial Arts and BJJ to the point where I received my blue belt in BJJ and coached and cornered a number of amateur MMA athletes.
After leaving the Navy in 2022, I started my online coaching business, Black Mountain PT, so I could help people achieve their big fitness goals like completing their first Olympic triathlon, improving amateur MMA fighters' strength and conditioning, and coaching first responders and military personnel to be purposely fit for their jobs.
I wanted to coach in a gym again as I love the team environment, connecting with people, and the collective goal of everyone wanting to be fitter, healthier and stronger!
PHILOSOPHY
